Mashvara (mashvara.com) is a civic platform for documenting and mapping public issues in Karachi, Pakistan. Operated by Taqi Naqvi. We are not affiliated with any government body (KMC, KWSB, etc.).

2. Information We Collect

Account information: When you register, we collect your email address and a display name. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.

Complaint submissions: When you report a civic issue, we store the description, category, location data (neighborhood/area), and any photos you upload.

Analytics: We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to collect anonymous usage data such as page views, click patterns, and session recordings. These help us improve the platform. No personal information is shared with analytics providers.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To display and map reported civic issues for public visibility
• To allow you to track the status of your reported issues
• To improve the platform based on aggregate usage patterns
• To contact you about the status of your submissions (if email provided)

4. Public Information

Complaint descriptions, categories, and locations are publicly visible by design — the purpose of Mashvara is public accountability. Your display name may appear alongside your submissions. Email addresses are never publicly displayed.

5. Data Storage & Security

Data is stored on secure servers via Vercel. Passwords are bcrypt-hashed. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Uploaded images are stored securely and used only for issue documentation.

• Vercel — Hosting and deployment
• Google Fonts — Font delivery

7. Cookies

We use cookies for authentication sessions and analytics. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings. Disabling cookies may prevent you from logging in.

You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us. You can edit or delete your own complaint submissions through your profile. For data export or removal requests, contact us at the email below.

Mashvara is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

We may update this policy periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of Mashvara constitutes acceptance of any changes.
