KWSB Water Complaint — Step by Step

Water cuts in Karachi are not a bug — they're a feature of life here. But there IS a process that works better than just waiting.

How to File Effectively

Step 1: Call 119 and get a complaint number. Write it down. This is your tracking ID.

Step 2: Be specific. Don't say "no water." Say:

  • "Block 7, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Street 14 — zero supply since Monday March 10"
  • "Approximately 200 households affected"
  • "Last supply was 3 days ago, tanker came once on Tuesday"
  • Step 3: File as a bulk complaint. If your entire street or block is affected, say "bulk complaint" — this triggers a different escalation path.

Step 4: Follow up after 48 hours. Call 119 again with your complaint number. Ask for status.

Step 5: Escalate to 1339. If KWSB hasn't responded in 72 hours, call the CM Helpline. Reference your KWSB complaint number.

    Water Tanker Options

When the pipes are dry, here are your options:

  • KWSB tanker: Free but slow. Request via 119.
  • Private tankers: PKR 2,000–5,000 depending on area. Gulshan/Nazimabad rates are lower than DHA/Clifton.
  • Mosque/community tankers: Many mosques have water distribution. Ask your local imam.
  • Report on Mashvara

Document your water issue on Mashvara with photos and your area. Community upvotes create pressure that individual calls don't.
