Noise Pollution Complaint Guide

Recurring noise may involve building management, a local administration, Sindh EPA or police when there is an immediate public-order or safety concern. Record only what you directly observe.

Filing a Complaint

For generator or industrial noise:

  • Record the source, address, dates and approximate duration from a safe location
  • Contact the operator or building management if it is safe to do so
  • Use the current complaint channel published by Sindh EPA or the relevant local authority

For a venue or event:

  • Contact venue management first when there is no immediate safety concern
  • Call Police 15 for an active disturbance that needs immediate police attention
  • Keep a dated record for any follow-up with the licensing or environmental authority

For construction:

  • Note the site address, contractor or project name if displayed, and working hours
  • Use the relevant building-control, cantonment, society or municipal complaint channel
  • Avoid filming people or private homes when documenting the noise source

Tips

  • Record the noise with your phone — timestamps matter
  • Consumer phone apps are not calibrated evidence; use them only as a personal reference
  • Ask affected neighbours to keep their own accurate dates and observations
  • Share one official complaint number so follow-ups stay consistent
